Our MUS Battle of the Books program is back! If you're looking for a fun way to read and discuss books as part of a team, join our MUS Battle of the Books program! Here's how it works. Students in grades 4-6 will read independently a certain amount of books per grade grade level between October 2023 and March 2024. Once students are finished reading a book from the BOB booklist, they may come to the library and receive a mustang emoji stamp for that book on their progress tracker and then choose a new book or spin the Battle of Books wheel to select their next book.
Students in 4th grade need to read 10/15 books
Students in 5th & 6th grade need to read 15/28 books
Copies of all books are available for checkout from the school library. Alternatively, students may read these books in any format that is convenient, traditional print-based, audiobooks or electronic books. Each student that reaches the grade level goal will be able to participate in the quiz-show-style Springtime Battle (during March parent conferences). In addition, five fifth and sixth grade students will have the opportunity to represent MUS at the countywide Battle of the Books event in April.
