Hello Mustangs! Here's what happened in the Library this week! October 11-29 In grades K-3, students learned and/or reviewed several of the California Model Library School Standards such as navigating the library, distinguishing between fiction and non-fiction, learning the parts of the book and using shelf markers to pull/shelf properly. In addition, our young Mustangs are enjoying Halloween read alouds, browsing and checking out new books each week. In grades 4-6, students learned how to navigate the new Library website. Under the Library Programs tab, students learned how to get involved with programs such as: Breakfast with the Authors, Battle of the Books, March Book Madness, Library Book Club and Author Go Around. Under the Catalog & Database tab, students explored a variety of reading related websites, Destiny Discover, our new library catalog and new research databases, hosted by the state of California. Finally, under the Resources tab, students learned how to access "how-to" videos, suggest a title for the library, access reading lists and library policies and more. Students also learned about the Mexican tradition of El Dia de Los Muertos, The Day of the Dead.
