California Young Reader Medal
The California Young Reader Medal (CYRM) program encourages recreational reading of popular literature among the young people of our state. Since its inception in 1974, millions of California children have nominated, read, and voted for the winners of the California Young Reader Medal. Notable Book List - Each year a committee of the Association for Library Service to Children (ALSC) identifies the best of the best in children's books including fiction, information, poetry and pictures for all age levels (birth through age 14) and that encourage children's interests in exemplary ways.
